Adelina Romero

On Monday, October 22, 2018, Adelina G. Romero, mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away surrounded by her family at the age of 102 years. She was born in Clayton, NM to Epifanio Garcia and Irene Sanchez and is one of 9 siblings. After graduating from Albuquerque High School she attended the University of New Mexico where she got her Masters degree in Education. Adelina started and ended her 39 year career as a teacher at Atrisco Elementary School. Adelina is preceded in death by her husband John Romero of 35 years, and is survived by her children John Romero Jr., Stella Saucedo, and Lena Romero. Adelina will be lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren Rebecca, Jenny, Bobby, Paige, Joel, and Claire and great-grandchild Jayce. Adelina was an avid traveler, bowler, fisher, and a woman of strong Catholic faith. Her real and abiding passions were her family and friends. She sought to instill in her family a zest for life, a commitment to the people she loved and the power of a smile. Adelina continued being active leading to her death where she regularly attended South Valley Senior Center with Estelle Liguori. Please join us in remembrance of Adelina Romero on Sunday, November 4th, for a viewing from 5-6 pm and Rosary from 6-7 pm at Strong~Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. The reception will follow also at Strong~Thorne Funeral Home, Daniels Family Funeral Services from 7-8 pm. The Mass will be on Monday, November 5th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 9 am. The reception will follow at Betty Garcia’s house 1722 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, 87505. The burial will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 3:00 pm. Pallbearers are ~ Mike Liguori, Vince Saucedo, Joel Saucedo, Paige Saucedo, Lucy Garcia and Bobby Romero.
