With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Alice Marie Sanchez announces her passing on December 4, 2025. Alice was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched every life she crossed.
Alice was born on July 7, 1966, to Dolores Chavez and Theodis Morris, both of whom preceded her in death. She was one of six siblings and is survived by her brother and sisters: Manual Sanchez, Isabel Sanchez, and Theresa Sanchez. She is also reunited in heaven with her brothers Robert Martin Sanchez and Theodis Phillip Morris. Alice was a devoted mother to her five children: • Roy Knibbs (wife Tiffany Knibbs) • Aaron Gilliam • Darin Gilliam (wife Monet Gilliam) • Alicia Gray • Talia Heffelfinger (husband Daniel Heffelfinger)
Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She adored her ten grandchildren: Uriah Knibbs, Trevious Knibbs, Tariah Knibbs, Talia Knibbs, Ellyana Gilliam, Darrius Patterson, Benjamin Heffelfinger, Ariel Heffelfinger, Marcaline Heffelfinger, and Michale Heffelfinger. Her heart belonged to them completely, and she loved each one deeply. Alice also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. Family meant everything to her, and she embraced each member with a full, open heart.
Known for her warmth and generosity, Alice had a way of caring for others that made everyone feel at home. She never let anyone leave her house without a hot meal, a laugh, or a reminder that they were loved. She was well known in the community and brought people together with her kindness, her faith, and her joyful spirit.
Alice enjoyed attending church, cooking for her family, and spending time at bingo, where she made many friends and unforgettable memories. She lived her life with compassion, loyalty, and a giving heart that never wavered.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family, one that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
Alice’s presence will be forever missed, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and love for the rest of our lives.
GOD CALLED YOU HOME
God looked around his garden, and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest; God’s garden must be beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough and the hills are hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
