Alvin Eugene Walker

Alvin Eugene Walker, 60, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 19, 2026, in Albuquerque. He was born June 6, 1966, in Long Beach, California, to Madonna Louise (Welbourn) Shepherd and Willie Eugene Walker, and was raised by his stepfather, Jack C. Shepherd. Alvin earned his associate's degree from TVI New Mexico and went on to work as an instructor at American University.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Andrew Perea, and his grandmother, "Mema" Mary Louise Welbourn.

He is survived by his sisters, Babette Rose Reeves and Annette Cecil Kiehl; his brother, Michael Ritz; his aunt, Christine Riboni; nephews Jace and Christopher; nieces Angelica, Krystal, Raven, and Evonne; and 11 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Funeral services will be held at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, on October 2, with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Altus Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma.
