Amie Williams

July 16, 1914 — October 18, 2018

Amie Lee Williams, born July 16, 1914 to Amos James Johnson and Lucinda in Macon, Mississippi.  She Departed this life October 18, 2018.

She and her parents were farmers which is how they made their living.

After leaving the family home, she worked on several jobs, doctor’s assistant, clerk for Kroger’s Grocery Chain, and other grocery chains.

She attended Friendship Elementary and Mid School and graduated from Brooks Full School all in Mississippi.

She enjoyed horseback riding, cooking and sharing with friends.  She was a very friendly person.  She was the type that never met a stranger.  She would introduce herself and begin talking about the goodness of God.

God was always the center of her discussion whenever you would talk to her.

She is preceded in death by her two husbands, John Campbell Hyde and David Watkins Williams, her father and mother and all of her relatives.  She was the last family member to pass on.

She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. N. Darnell Smith.  She loved her pastor and her church.  She lived in the church apartments for a few years and would always make her way to Sunday morning bible class and Sunday school which she loved. Whenever asked if she had anything to say, she would never think twice.  She wanted you to know how good God had been to her and she was not ashamed to tell it.

When her health would allow it, she was a member of the Senior Choir, a member of the Senior Mission and attended home bible studies when someone would pick her up.

Amie and the late Ruby Foster-Banks became great friends.  Sister Foster-Banks would visit with her daily and make sure that she was ok and that she did not need anything.  They would set and talk about the Lord for hours.

Before Ruby’s passing she told her daughter, Renee Wilson to make sure that she took care of Ms. Amie.

She was loved my many and will truly be missed.
