In Loving Memory of Carolyn Ann Bordegaray
It’s with the deepest sadness that our family announces the death of Carolyn. She was a brilliant woman, with incredible wit and modest humility. The family matriarch, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, she moved, along with her husband and first two children to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early 50’s where she made the family’s home and raised her three sons. She loved all animals, great and small and shared her knowledge of them as a docent at the Rio Grande Zoo in the 70’s and 80’s. Later she volunteered as a docent and amateur research assistant at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. She happily lived independently with her husband until passing. She recently celebrated her 95th birthday which was sadly followed by a medical episode from which she was unable to recover from. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother and father, Olivette Fisher and George Fisher. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 73-years, Pierre Bordegaray; her sons Larry, Paul (Bonnie) and Jim; her grandchildren Matthew Bordegaray, MD., and Nathan (Lisa Wood) Bordegaray (Larry), Emma Bordegaray and Charlotte Bordegaray (Jim), and Adele (Alex) White (Paul); six great grandchildren, Ashton Bordegaray and Jagger Bordegaray (Emma), Nora Bordegaray (Matthew), Finnegan and Josie (Nathan and Lisa) and Teagan (Adele and Alex). Our family would like to thank the entire staff at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center for the exceptional care and dignity they provided her and the compassion they showed our entire family.
