                                                                                  -Reflections of Life-

Charles Johnnie Dillard, IV, better known as Chuckie, was born on January 17, 1967, to the late Martha Mae Barrs-Dillard and the late Charles Johnnie Dillard, III, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was the second child and first son born of their union. After the passing of his mother in 1976, Chuckie grew up under the wings of his grandparents, Willie Frank Barrs and Ruben Barrs Sr.

Big on family, Chuckie helped care for many, including his younger siblings in their early years and his grandmother whom he took in when she would become ill in her final years. Chuckie had a very vivacious spirit and a good heart that drew people in. He loved to joke, and his unique laugh was infectious. Where he could lend a helping hand, he would. He would often say, “I don’t have much, but I’ll do what I can. Chuckie loved his family/friends, “good, bad or indifferent.” And even through the distance, he shared a special bond with each of his children, whom he and Dina Hiley lovingly created during their time together.

On March 25, 2023, Chuckie departed this life in Houston, TX, where he resided. He was 56 years old at the time of his passing. In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Frank, and Ruben Sr; nephew, Shane Barrs; niece, Lacresia Dillard; and aunt, Edna Barrs-Smith.

Chuckie leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved children, Tanisha Hiley-Rogers (I’keam), Tavarez Dillard, Devante Dillard (Ashley), and Darian Dillard; grandchildren, Luvay Dillard, Liamora Dillard, Elijah Law-Dillard, Cherish Rogers, Na’im Rogers, Tavarez Dillard Jr., Harmony Dillard, Musah Dillard, Darian Dillard Jr. and Katherine Dillard; his siblings Twila Barrs, Jacques Dillard, Alicia Yonker (Aaron), Donnie Dillard and Denita Dillard; aunt, Joyce Barrs-Irvin (Robert); a host of nieces/nephews, cousins, friends, and adored furbaby, Poochie.
