Corey Givens

Corey D. Givens passed away on May 6, 2015, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 31. Corey was born on April 14, 1984 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his daughters Jasanyiea Givens (age 13), and Dacia Givens (age 6), his parents Lenora Givens and Aaron Givens Sr., and stepmother Janice Givens.  He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Rita Verdell and paternal grandmother Audrey Givens; as well as  brother Aaron Givens  Jr. and his kids Joshua and Sanaa Givens, and sister Barbara Givens and her children Shaquia Givens-Peterson and E’averi  Washington. His step brothers and sisters; Dana Henderson and wife Stephanie and their children Alexis, Alea and Alivia; Alicia Henderson and her husband Trevor Lawrence and their children Trevor Jr. and Anjala; step-sister Keecia Henderson; James and wife Lorre Henderson and their children, Aleyce, Nathaniel, Jorre and Jonell, Jaylee, Jia and Jaelle Henderson; cousins Neva and her husband Marvin Taylor and their children (Marvin Jr.-predeceased) Andre Taylor and son Jalen Taylor, George Taylor and wife Adrienne Taylor and their children Miles and Austin Taylor ; cousin George and wife Lisa Givens and their kids Domonique Wilbon-Givens, Ciera Murph, and Aaron Givens; Corey’s godparents are  Rosetta and Zack Wesley and their children Caroline, Veronica and Zack Wesley Jr.;  father figure Eddie Jefferson and a  host of cousins and relatives in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia, California and along the east coast.   He was raised and educated in Albuquerque and graduated from Highland High School.  Corey enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends and enjoyed music, football, roller skating and martial arts. He was loved and will be missed. His memory will live with us forever. Services will be Saturday May 23, 2015 at 1:00 pm Daniels Funeral Home at 1100 Coal SE in Albuquerque, NM.
