David Anwar Randall

David Randall, a loving, thoughtful, and generous man, passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 47. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 20, 1977, David brought joy, laughter, and compassion to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

From a young age, David had a deep love for football. He played as an offensive lineman throughout high school and college, serving as team captain at Pocono Mountain High School in Pennsylvania. His dedication to the game continued into adulthood when he played for a semi-pro team, the Titans, in the early 2000s. David’s passion for football also extended into coaching—mentoring middle school players and finding great fulfillment in helping them grow both on and off the field.

One of David’s proudest and most cherished memories was running two blocks with the Olympic torch in 1994 after being nominated by his mother. The run, which began at 52nd Street in Times Square, was a moment he often reminisced about with pride and gratitude.

David attended Millersville College before moving to New Mexico to live with his mother. There, he continued his education at New Mexico Highlands University, where he earned his degree in social work—a field that perfectly reflected his generous spirit and compassionate heart.

Throughout his career, David dedicated himself to helping others. He worked with adults with disabilities at ARCA, served as a classification specialist at the Metropolitan Detention Center, and ultimately found his calling at A Better Way of Living, where he devoted 13 years to supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities. His patience, empathy, and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.

David was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and deep love of music. He appreciated all genres—from rock and soul to country and jazz—and could always find the perfect song for every mood or moment.

David is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Randall; his daughter, Aaliyah Randall; his nephew, Christopher Malone; his niece, Malia Williams; his cousin, Kenyatta Williams; his godmother, Barbara Jenkins; and his cousin, Robbie Jenkins.

David also loved animals, especially dogs. He is now reunited with Penny, the family’s beloved golden retriever, who passed in 2022.

The services honoring David will take place at Strong Thorne Mortuary, located at 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. A Visitation will be held on October 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at 1:00 PM on the same day.
