Dean Lane

Dean Edwin Lane Sr. was a jack of all trades and loved challenges. He was a lover of family games, outdoor activities, sports, and coaching. He enjoyed coaching men, women, youth, and kids. He was a son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 62. He was born to Travis and Bobbie Lou Lane on June 6, 1960, in Center Texas. Soon after the birth of his baby brother Lonnie Lane, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and resided there until his age of thirteen. Upon his thirteen year the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dean remained a resident until his passing. Dean attended Carlos Rey Elementary, Truman Middle school and West Mesa High school where he graduated in 1979. During his high school years, Dean loved to play sports and earned himself a full ride track scholarship to a college located in Hobbs, New Mexico. However, you know how love can be?! Upon completion of his first semester, returned to Albuquerque to marry his high school sweetheart Dorothy Griffin. Eventually, he returned to college. While attending Brookline College he graduates top of his class and earned himself an associate degree as a Paralegal in Criminal Justice. Hired on with two law firms he enjoyed finding the facts to help people and sharing his knowledge. While married, Dean and Dorothy Griffin were blessed with two sons Dean JR (DJ) and Dante Lane. However, they later separated, and Dean married Towanika who had a son (Eddie). Dean now had a blended family and loved every bit of it. He is survived by his wife Towanika (Nita), two sons Dean e. Lane Jr. and Dante L. Lane, five grandchildren (Dean E. Lane III, Deanna L-M. Lane, Dominic J. Lane, Lashawna V. Lane and Elijah L. Lane), an aunt and uncle (Lera and Jeff Price), siblings (Jimmy Lane and wife Romana Lane, Brenda Lane, Lonnie Lane and wife Helena Lane, Sabrina McAllister, Shelia Hubbard, and Trentis Lane, and wife Florence Lane), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and great cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday July 30, 2022  11- 12 at Strong Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE 87106

Services will be Saturday July 30,2022 12-1 at Strong Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE 87106
