Doris H. Lee

Albuquerque

Doris Lee, 86 years young was born on October 12th, 1936, in Waco, Texas to the late Leola Montgomery and John T. Wells. Doris graduated from A.J.Moore High School and Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. She began her ambitious medical career as a candy-striper assisting soldiers in the medical ward. She later continued her caring spirit by retiring from Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  The family settled in Albuquerque in 1974 after traveling around the world as a military family who served this great nation.

Doris professed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Toliver Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. Where She continued her relationship with the Lord by joining Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.  Doris continued to be a dedicated member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a mother of the Church, member of the Choir, regular attendee of Baptist Training Union, and Sunday school. 

She was united in holy matrimony to the late William T. Lee on July 2, 1955, this union was blessed with 3 children Juan Theodore Lee, Carlos Ramon Lee, and Tonya Nicole Brown.

She was the oldest of 3 children (Nelda Brown sadly passed at 6 months old). As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She departed this life on September 3, 2023, at Lovelace Hospital.

Doris enjoyed shopping, visiting various nursing homes providing companionship and ministering to those who lacked a family presence in their lives.

Her beautiful legacy will forever be cherished in the lives of her children,  Daughter Tonya Nicole Brown, Son Carlos Ramon Lee, Sister Janice Buxton, Nephew Tony Paul Wife Beth Paul their son Jaden Paul, Nieces, Tanisha Banks, her children Ronald Banks and Angel Banks, Crystal Murray and her husband Myron Murray, Grandchildren; Keyara Smith, Chelsea Hicks, Carlos Lee Junior, Kirsten Lee, Tia Lee, Alicea Lee, Sisters-in-law; Loretta Hobbs-James, Thelma Carter, Yvonne Crawford, Francine Jenkins, Gwendolyn Lee and a host of family and friends.

Doris is Preceded death by her parents John T. Wells, Leola Montgomery, husband William T. Lee, son Juan Theodore Lee, brothers-in-law Carroll Lee, Russel Lee (Sack), James Lee(Butch), Elvin Lee and John Buxton.

Thank you, Mrs. Lee, for the love you shared, the wisdom you imparted, and the light you brought into our lives. May your soul find eternal peace, and may your legacy continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
