Our beloved father and brother, Gerald Silva, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Farmington and raised in Waterflow, where he attended the Sacred Heart School Academy. Shortly after graduating from school, he joined the U.S. Navy. After completing his service, he settled in Albuquerque. There, he started and finished a truck-driving career with Yellow Freight trucking. His favorite pastimes after retirement were going to casinos and dancing at the VFW. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Senida Silva; and older brother, Henry. He is survived by his son, Sammy (Patty) Silva of Albuquerque; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews; four brothers and four sisters, Gusty (Kathy) Silva, Eugene (Mary Helen) Silva all of Kirtland, Arthur (Marie) Silva of Zuni, Richard (Debbie) Silva of La Plata, Ruby (Floyd) Powers, Rose Herrera (David), all of Kirtland, NM, Bobby (John) Gallegos of Mancos, CO, and Ruth Ann (Robert) Baldonado of Gallup, NM To view information or leave a condolence, please visit www.danielsfuneral.com.
