In Loving Memory of Geraldine Barfoot September 5, 1948 – January 19, 2026

Geraldine Barfoot (Romero) was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose life was defined by love, resilience, and devotion to her family. Born on September 5, 1948, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, she was deeply rooted in the traditions of her family and hometown. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and married Dewey Mullings shortly after.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leopoldo and Pauline Romero, and her beloved husband, Joseph (Joe) Barfoot, whom she loved deeply and whose memory she carried always.

She is survived by her siblings: sister, Lucy Martin (Rick Martin), brother, Raymond Romero (Hazel Romero), sister, Lorraine Romero, and brother, Leopoldo Romero Jr. (Claudette Romero).

Geraldine leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: son, Joseph Mullings (Kimberly Mullings), daughter, Lytisha Mullings (Michelle Rooney), and daughter, Christina Tyson (Chad Tyson). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Lee Barfoot (Miranda Barfoot), Colby Tyson, Benjamin Barfoot, Ryan Barfoot, Alexis Tyson, Matthew Tyson, and Uriah Mullings, as well as extended grandchildren, cherished great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy.

Her greatest happiness came from her family. She found purpose in caring for others and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Geraldine was a talented cook who cherished the time spent teaching her grandchildren how to make tortillas even though they weren’t perfectly round; they came from her heart. She loved the mountains and especially time spent rock hounding, four-wheeling, and piñon picking, moments that brought her peace, joy, and lasting memories. She found beauty and comfort in watching New Mexico sunsets. She treasured long road trips with Joe, and the days they spent birdwatching together at Bosque del Apache.

Her strength, kindness, and unwavering support will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Geraldine Barfoot will be remembered for her generous spirit, her deep love for her family, and the many lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy continues through the generations she nurtured and loved so completely.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered, always.
