Gloria G. Martinez, 82, was called home to our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. She was born Contreras, NM on June 30, 1933, to Ambrosio and Josefita Gonzales. Gloria was the cashier at Cash Register #1 at Walgreens at 12th Street and I-40 for many years. She loved her job and helping others. Her smile and joyfulness was contagious.  She, also worked at MoreValue - the store that distributed the green stamps. Serving others was Gloria's passion, especially serving her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan B. Martinez. Gloria  is survived by her children, John Martinez and his wife, Esther, of Albuquerque, NM, Ambrose "Abe" J. Martinez and his wife, Kathy, of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Martinez and his companion, Geraldine, of Los Lunas, NM, Virginia "Gina" Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, Cathie Arellin, and husband, Manuel, of Bernalillo, NM; grandchildren, Jazzmine, David,  Michael, Josiah,  Lydia, Andrea, and Julie; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Louie, Pete, Christine and Flora. The Rosary followed by the Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Strong-Throne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE Albuquerque, NM. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM.
