Cox, Greta L.

Age 70, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 25, 1948, to Carl J. Nissen and Sibyl M. Williamson.

Greta is survived by husband, Robert D. Cox of Albuquerque, NM, Son Richard D. Cox of Dayton, Ohio, Daughter-in-law Amy M. Cox, Daughter Deann L. Ragland, Grandchildren Brion "Robbie" Ragland, Austyn R. Ragland, Sibyl "Bea" Cox, Ridley D. Cox, Siblings Sigrid McCain of Ashboro, NC, Hilda Riddick of Sumter, SC, Sonja Peters of Warsaw, MO, and James Nissen of Albuquerque, NM, also she leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are her parents Carl J. Nissen and Sibyl M. Nissen, Sister Carlene Reid and Grandson Kody Ragland.

Greta graduated from Highland High School in 1966 and from UNM.

She was a wonderful Mother, Health Worker and Teacher.

Greta worshipped at Highland Baptist Church and Christ United Methodist Church.

The Viewing/Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Strong ~ Thorne Funeral Home, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church at 6200 Gibson Blvd. SE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A reception will follow the Graveside Service at Christ United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Youth Group or St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital.
