Larnetha "Lynn" Holyfield

October 5, 1949 — March 20, 2026

Albuquerque

Larnetha “Lynn” Holyfield was born in Camden, AR on October 5th, 1949. She was the oldest daughter born to her late parents:Ferlie Mae Jones Ferguson and James Holyfield. She is also preceded in death by a special uncle and aunt Floyd and Mary Jones. On Friday, March 20th, 2026, Larnetha called upon the Lord for rest; and thereafter entered the arms of her savior—Jesus Christ.

In 1969, Larnetha relocated to Albuquerque, NM, to attend Job Corps, where she graduated with a certificate in office administration. Larnetha worked for the City of Albuquerque as a housing specialist for twenty-five years. After twenty-five years of distinguished service, she retired to enjoy her family and newfound freedom.

More importantly, Larnetha was a kind-spirited person who lit up every room she entered. Her calm demeanor attracted many to her; she loved to talk, laugh, and celebrate the accomplishments of others. Larnetha was a wonderful southern culinarian and would often host family for the holidays and special events. Her carrot and German chocolate cakes were among the favorites that family and friends enjoyed. But nothing could compare to her infectious smile and laughter. She was selfless and, even in sickness, served others. She gave so much and never wanted to bother or inconvenience others. Her thoughtfulness and kindness made her one of a kind.

Larnetha is survived by her spouse of fifty years, Collins Locke, Jr. Her two sisters, Deborah Ferguson and Diane Burns, three brothers, Glen (Suiki) Ferguson, William F. Ferguson, George (Janine) Ferguson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
