Obituary

Our beautiful angel, Laveylla Rosalia Jones, 16, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on July 16th surrounded by her loving family.

Laveylla was born on March 25th, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Veronica Veltman and Jason Jones, and is survived by them, also her sister and brothers, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Laveylla attended La Cueva High School where she was passionate about dance, track and volleyball, and excelled academically.

From the moment Laveylla was born, we knew she was destined for great things – and she never disappointed. She had a beautiful heart, and a way of making everyone she met feel loved. Laveylla loved everyone and everyone shared that same love for her. She had the kindest spirit and a warm, beautiful smile. She always wanted to help others, whether it was playing with her little cousins to keep them entertained, baking for the family, or helping her mom with errands. Her compassion and sincerity in even the tiniest of compliments would melt any heart. Her love was pure and genuine, and her kindness unwavering.

Laveylla dreamed of pursuing a medical degree after high school, aspiring to become a doctor or nurse. She always wanted to be a source of hope and healing for others, reflecting the kindness and compassion that defined her very being.

When not attending school, Laveylla cherished the time she spent with family and friends. One of her favorite things was accompanying her mom, on day to day errands, simply because she loved being by her side. Laveylla and her brother Jaidyn shared countless conversations about their dreams and aspirations, encouraging one another everyday. Because of her passion for dance, she loved showing her skills to family, many times performing for us with her cousin Ylena.

Laveylla had many close friends from Desert Ridge Middle School and La Cueva High School, and enjoyed spending time with them whenever possible. The memories they created together will be treasured forever.

Like the butterflies she loved so much, Laveylla was a beautiful free spirit with such a loving heart. Her love, kindness, and light touched everyone around her and will be cherished eternally, with her memory forever in the hearts of her family, her La Cueva High School Dance Team partners and coaches, her friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Laveylla is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her parents, Veronica Veltman and Jason Jones; her siblings; her extended family; and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing her.

The Veltman and Jones families request that all flowers and notes be sent to the Strong-Thorne Funeral Home & Mortuary through the following link: strongthorne.com
