Celebration of Life For Mother Lois Berry

And the Peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:7

Our dearly beloved Mother Lois Berry has been summoned by God from labor to reward. Mother Berry walked with God as he gave her the gift of long life, 98 1/2 years. She was born to Walter and Lorene Holmes who both preceded her in death and was blessed to have 6 brothers and 4 sisters who also all preceded her in death. Mother Berry was known for her sweet, humble and loving spirit and was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.

God saw fit to anoint Mother Berry as an instrument of praise, she used her beautiful melodious voice to enhance the Glory of God in many, many of our services for years. It was during one of these services in 1942 that an anointed man of God, whom she had never met, walked up to her and stated, "God told me that you are my wife!" She was astonished but also knew that this was the leading of The Holy Spirit. This led to a flurry of activity and in one month they were joined together in Holy Matrimony. God immediately put them to work as her new husband Evangelist, Elder Ervin Berry, SR left the evangelist field and went in to fulltime pastoring. During their tenure in leadership they pastored 4 churches in New Mexico, 2 of them at the same time, one of first pastors to do that and saw souls saved, demons cast out and bodies healed. She never left his side until he preceded her in death in 1988.

Now to properly celebrate her life we must look at how the legacy further unfolded. She had already seen the overwhelming outpouring of the Power Of God in ministry with her husband, then after his demise, she was able to see more of the affects their lives had on the seeds God planted in them. She saw sprouting from their union, evangelist missionaries, elders, singers, pastors, musicians, prophets, seers, visionaries, demon slayers, a national gospel recording artist, leaders, writers, entrepreneurs, the gift of artistry, medical professionals, law enforcers, city and state employees and many others that are not named here.

She stated faithful and prayed for the seeds born to their union as she could see the call on their lives. She leaved to celebrate five daughters, Evangelist Lois Lorene Williams, and First Lady and Evangelist Mary P. Bell, son-in-law Pastor Claude L. Bell, all of Albuquerque, NM, Alma Jean Pitts, son-in-law Michael Pitts of Las Vegas, NV, Willie Oneta Berry and Joyce Ann Defreeze both of Los Angeles, CA, one son Ervin Berry Jr. of Los Angeles, CA. From these seeds were other unions which consequently also leaves many more to celebrate her life, the offspring of their daughters and son, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Among these offspring and children are so many of the gifts named above that God is using in his kingdom to enhance the beauty of His glory. To God be the Glory, you have done an awesome job my precious mother. you are an example for all of us.
