Lorraine Gonzales

San Clemente Parish wishes to honor Lorraine Gonzales a longtime parishioner on her passing July 4th, 2026. Lorraine grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico being born April 2, 1939 to Gilberto and Genevive (Lucero) Chavez in Rancho de Albuquerque. Lorraine married Samuel (Sam) Gonzales in 1971. She worked for many years as a beautician and then began caring for her two daughters Yolanda and Deborah the loves of her life. Lorraine found her passion for painting and produced many exceptional pieces in various media. She exhibited works at the New Mexico State Fair and sold one of her paintings in the Hispanic Arts exhibit. Lorraine was a faithful member of San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas for many years.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto & Genevive Chavez, brother Tommy and her two daughters Yolanda and Deborah and her husband Sam. She is survived by her brothers Orlando Chavez and wife Barbara Chavez, and El and wife Rosina Chavez, Jerry Chavez and many nieces and nephews .

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Strong-Thorne Mortuary (Daniels). Services will be held at San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 beginning with visitation at 9:00 am and recitation of the holy rosary at 9:30. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
