Marie Garcia

Garcia, Marie “Susie” born August 26, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM, passed away May 9, 2016, after a long illness. Mrs. Garcia resided in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Dan Garcia, her parents, Manuel and Evangeline Chavez, her sister Rosemarie Montoya and brother-in-law’s Tom Chavez, and Dennis Daly, sister-in-law’s, Rosie, Eva, and Jackie Chavez.
Susie Garcia had eight children. Danny and Sonya Garcia of New Jersey, Marie Sue Garcia, Joanne and David Jaramillo of Rio Rancho, Jeanette and Johnny Griego, Julie and Robert Sanchez, Judy and Alex Hererra, Jonene Chavez, Joseph and Irene Garcia, all of Albuquerque. Her siblings, Tessie Chavez, Mannie Chavez, Margie and Julian Lovato, Ernie Chavez, Abie Chavez, Alice Daly, Joe Montoya, Patricia and Gilbert Miller, John De Chavez. One sister-in-law, Beatrice Bonomo, One brother-in-law, Martin Garcia. 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces and friends.
She was a Eucharistic minister for many years, and a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a prayer warrior who read her Bible daily. She was an awesome mother, and mother-in-law. She treated all with kindness, respect and love. She will be remembered for her sweet, loving ways, sharing her kindness all of her days. Go, sweet servant to the Lord, lay your body to rest.
A memorial Rosary, followed by a mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 19th at 10 AM at Strong Thorne Funeral Services 1100 Coal Avenue SE
