Melanie Lorene Lipscomb, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away in Albuquerque on April 22, 2026. Born in Albuquerque on August 27, 1975, to Donald and Laura Lipscomb, she remained a proud lifelong resident of the city. She found her well-deserved rest after a journey walked with quiet strength.
A graduate of La Cueva High School, Melanie went on to further her education at TVI Community College. While she once dreamed of becoming an architect or a veterinarian, she channeled that same passion into her lifelong love for animals and her desire to help people whenever she could.
She possessed an artistic spirit and a keen eye for fashion and detail. Melanie expressed her creativity through her love of unique jewelry and purses, always finding beauty in the fine points of life. Whether she was enjoying a movie or cooking a meal for those she loved, she did so with a thoughtful and generous spirit.
Her roots in her community and faith ran deep. As a young girl, she shared her voice in the children’s choir and later expressed her devotion as a praise dancer at her church. She continued to nurture her faith throughout her life, regularly participating in Bible studies via Zoom.
Melanie’s loyalty was unmatched, especially to her lifelong friends, and her devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She cherished the time spent accompanying her parents, providing them with companionship and love whenever she was able. Even as she privately managed her health conditions, she never let her own suffering dim her smile or her sweet disposition that genuinely touched so many.
She is survived by her father, Donald Lipscomb; her mother, Laura Lipscomb; her sister, Tierney Green, and husband, Lawrence Green; her nephew, Kaden Lipscomb; and her niece, Azrael Green. She is also survived by a host of family and friends who were blessed to call her their own.
She will be remembered for her lovely soul, her resilient heart, her radiant smile, and the grace she carried every day.
