Micaela Christina "Chris" Maez, 70, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. She was born on November 3, 1946 in Coffey County, KS. She was a poet who authored 31 books. She was preceded in death by her parents, Candelario Torres and Ellen Christina (Pierce) Romero. Chris is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Robert E. Maez, of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Stephen Romero, Charles Romero and Jonathon Romero; and several other family members.
