Age 44, returned home to our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on October 16, 1970, to Michael and Yolanda Sanchez. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Ambrosio Sanchez. Michelle is survived by her daughter, Krysti Sanchez, of Albuquerque, NM; parents, Michael and Yolanda Sanchez, of Albuquerque, NM; brother, David Sanchez and wife, Jennifer, of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Myra Sanchez and husband, Alvin Gonzales, of Albuquerque, NM; grandma, Lupe Sanchez, of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Ambrosio Sanchez; niece, Mary Sanchez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM and a 1989 graduate of Albuquerque High School. While at AHS, her music skills and talents shone brightly. She served as the band's drum major and then became one of the first MESA program students at UNM. She could play the saxophone, oboe, clarinet, and other instruments and was a member of the New Mexico Philharmonic for many years. Learning and reading was her passion and she was extremely brilliant. Over the years she took many courses at UNM, T-VI, CNM and the University of Santa Fe. She retired as the Asset Manager at Bernalillo County after 19 years of service. Michelle enjoyed watching her family play softball and kept score for every game on the field. Michelle was so easy to get along with and was a friend to everybody. She had a constant beautiful smile and magnetic personality. She made everyone feel better about themselves. She had the rare characteristic of being truly trustworthy with a secret. Everybody called her "Mom." Please join the family during the Viewing and Visitation which will be held Monday, March 30, 2015, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm, led by Deacon Andrew Chavez. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 11:00 am, at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd SE, Albuquerque with Fr. Sean Garrity, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marcus Moya, Matthew Moya, Ambrosio Sanchez, David Sanchez, Jeremy Smith, Ivan Tafoya, and Anthony Tagliaferro. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alvin Gonzales, Richard Hardin, Chris Moya, Victor Martinez, Diego Moya, Abram Sanchez, Anton Sanchez, Jason Sanchez and Douglas Smith. We are eternally thankful and grateful for the NM Cancer Center, NM Pain Center, UCLA Cancer Center, Presbyterian Hospice Staff, all of whom became family.
