Nancy Marie Mullarky, 68, was born in Albuquerque, NM on September 20, 1957, to Glen and Betty Jones. Nancy was the second oldest of 4 children, and the only girl. She graduated from Highland High School in 1975. She then went on to work in the insurance industry for many years, climbing the ladder and making a name for herself. Later, she found her passion in working with and caring for developmentally disabled adults. She ultimately retired from Adelante Development Center as a manager in 2022.
Nancy was full of love, kindness and grace. She was always the first to help in a cause and shev would always support the underdogs. She believed not only in second chances, but in as many chances as a person needed. She also had an amazing ability to forgive. She was able to see beauty in things that most people take for granted or simply don’t even notice. She could breathe life and light into a dark situation and help people to see the light in themselves when they couldn’t. She was strong and courageous. She never wanted to let anyone down and truly never gave herself enough credit for the amazing person she was. She enjoyed good movies, building puzzles, sewing and shopping. She loved to challenge herself with a new project and loved finding and giving the perfect thing for her family and friends.
Nancy certainly had her struggles. But, through every hardship, be it physical or mental; she stayed firm in her faith and faced each challenge with a determination to overcome. Unfortunately, the last 3 years of her life were riddled with health challenges. However, she was a fighter and rarely complained. She fought her battle with an aggressive cancer with grace, poise and courage that outshined.
Nancy was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She continues to be loved and celebrated by her mother, Betty; her daughter Aimee and her husband, Aaron, her daughter Anna and her husband, Shawn, and her daughter Michal; her grandchildren, Samantha, McKenzie, Addyson, Eliana and Gavin; her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Emilia; her brother Carl and his wife, Kristie, he brother Charles and his wife, Darlene, and her brother Roy and his wife, Dawn. She is also forever loved by many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Her love for her family was nothing short of amazing and she took great joy in every moment she got to spend with them.
A memorial service will be held on September 29th at 10 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 Gold Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s name can be made to Immanuel Lutheran School, where 3 of her granddaughters and 2 of her brothers attended.
