A Faithful Servant

A woman of God, Nettie Frances Baltimore-Hobbs was born on July 28, 1938 in Hagerstown Maryland to Cecil Baltimore and Helen Butler-Baltimore. She is preceded in death by her husband Julius Joseph Hobbs who was born on October 27, 1926 in Jamestone County, Coolidge Texas to Arthur Chester Hobbs and Diccie Melton Hobbs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her four brothers James Baltimore Jr., Cecil Baltimore, Norman Baltimore, John Baltimore and her sister Edna Mae Yates Green all from Hagerstown Maryland.

Nettie Hobbs was also known as Ned-bud and NetNet to special family and friends. She departed this life at her home after suffering from a stroke and a brief illness on September 15, 2025. She was a resident in Albuquerque New Mexico for over 60 years.

Nettie Hobbs was from a family of loving parents, four older brothers who watch over her and her sisters when parents were gone and two sisters who support and encourage each other throughout life journey. She attended to school in Hagerstown and during her high school years she played girls basketball and received her high school diploma.

As a young woman she worked multiple jobs to help support her husband and daughter. She had one daughter Cecile Hobbs- Evans and a host of adopted daughters and God children whom she loved dearly, and help raised them alone with their parents. She started her own in house business the HOBBS DAY CARE FOR KIDS and had her business for over 40 years where she nurtured and loved and brought the Lord into these children at an early age. She helped raised over 80 children throughout career.

Nettie was a faithful patron of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Albuquerque New Mexico for over 45 years. She was a virtuous woman serving the Lord and always studying God's word. She was the Usher Board President, the Baptist training union President, a choir member and a missionary sister for many years.

As a wife she was devoted loving and dependable. As a mother she was a strong tower, a leader, a friend, a sister always loving and caring. Always wanting to help others and family.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter Cecile Hobbs- Evans and a multitude of adopted daughters and godchildren, her sister Mary Helen Baltimore- Williams of Hagerstown Maryland, her adopted grandson Isaiah Booker of Carrington Texas and Benjamin Allen of Albuquerque New Mexico, a host of nieces and nephews and many loving special friends
