Norman Patrick Maestas, known to most as “Squeaky,” passed away on October 4, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 56. He was a hard worker with a sharp sense of style and a smile that could light up any room.

Born in Farmington, New Mexico, to Leo and Esther Armenta Maestas, Norman worked for many years as a glazier. Some of his favorite times on the job were spent working side-by-side with his brother Aaron at Edgewood Glass Co. He took real pride in everything he did. Norman was always the best-dressed guy on the crew—his pants and shirts ironed with perfect creases, and his cap and shoes matching just right. That same care showed in the way he treated people.

Above all, Norman loved his daughters and his family deeply. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed a good conversation, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, reading about history, and sharing a cold beer with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Raynel Maestas. He is survived by his parents, Leo and Esther; his daughters, Pauline Maestas, Serena Sandoval, and Destiny Maestas; his brothers, Aaron and Brian Maestas; his five grandchildren; and a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, located at 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. A meal and reception will be served afterward at American Legion Post 13, 1201 Legion Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
