Surrounded by love from family, friends and grand-dogs Rebecca passed on October 14th. Lisa, Christine, Andrew and Laura Parker will miss the vibrant and loving mother she was. Rebecca grew up in Mt Vernon, Illinois and adored her parents and their summer trips to Miles City, Montana. Attending the University of New Mexico she enjoyed time with her grandparents in their home at Roma and 11th Street especially enjoying their rose garden. She was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and enjoyed the social events as both a student and alum. When she moved onto Sigma Chi Road, she reclaimed her college years by declaring herself “The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi”. Rebecca loved to decorate her homes - “House Lovely” was an often used phrase! Every season and holiday was an event to be celebrated and the delicious dinners were served elegantly and complemented by a festive table setting. Rebecca collected antiques. She delighted in attending the Albuquerque Old Glass Club meetings. She also became an avid doll collector and amassed an amazing collection, participating in doll clubs and traveling to conventions - a great excuse for new outfits, matching jewelry and of course more dolls! Rebecca enjoyed attending garden clubs, The Welcome Wagon and PEO. Rebecca loved a good time and having fun…she always insisted on a “Room with a View” and now she has the ultimate view.
