It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie” Martinez. Ronnie passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on the early morning of Tuesday, July 21, 2026 after a long illness. Despite the challenges he endured, he continued to be a source of love and support to those around him. He will be remembered for his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and kind, compassionate heart. He treated everyone with respect and generosity, whether they were lifelong friends or complete strangers. His willingness to help others, his warm smile, and his caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Ronnie was a lifelong avid sports fan, who rarely missed cheering on the Dodgers, Celtics, Lobos, and especially his beloved Seahawks. One of his greatest joys was seeing the Seahawks win their second Super Bowl championship this year in Super Bowl LX, a victory he celebrated with pride.
Ronnie came into this world on March 28, 1961. From the very beginning, he brought joy to those around him. Throughout his journey, Ronnie was surrounded by the love and support of his beloved wife of 40 years, Dolores, and their cherished son, Justin.
Ronnie is survived by his siblings, Gloria Apodaca, Rudy (Gloria), Suzanne Streit (Bob), Marianne Baca, and Michael (Lori); his brothers-in-law, Ben Montoya, Anthony Lopez (Priscilla) and John Lopez (Debbie); sister-in-law, Patricia Gutierrez (Ruben); his godchildren, Bobbie Garcia, Merissa Lowe, and Benjamin Griego, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his father Porfirio “Rudy” Martinez; his mother, Marjorie Martinez; his mother and father-in-law, Jennie and Jesus Lopez; his siblings, Charles, Patrick, Richard, John, Beverly, and Sylvia; his brothers-in-law, Tony Nuanes and Gilbert Anaya; and his sister-in-law, Rose Montoya, Dolores’s beloved sister. Ronnie is now reunited with them, cherishing the memories and love they shared.
