Celebration of a Life Well-Lived Mrs. Sandra Kay Waddles was only 69 when she passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at her home in Peachtree Corners, GA. The third of four sisters, born to the late Mr. Napolean “Pete” & Tina “Toota” French in LaMesa, TX on June 20, 1949. The family later moved to Hobbs, NM where she attended grade school before moving to Albuquerque in 1963. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and briefly attended college. In 1969 she married the love of her life, Jesse O. Waddles, JR. Together they had four children, Kevin, Tina (Chelle), Keva & Sheldon. Sandy worked and retired from Deluxe Check Printers. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother and was loved by all. While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, there is pain and sadness. But although she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and we ask that you keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another. One of the most important things in her life was socializing, and she took great pride in having family and friends around. She actively participated in many sports during her childbearing years. She played volleyball, bowled in bowling league, and played softball for two different teams, “Hot Stuff” and the “Queens”. Sandy also loved to have pinochle tournaments on the weekends. While growing up in the “Waddles” house, there was never a dull moment. We had parties for every occasion and when there wasn’t an occasion we had one, just for the fun of it. She got her nickname “Sandy” “Sandman” and “Red” because of her sandy brown hair. She was a mother to not just her own four kids but to the neighborhood kids and family as well. She will forever be missed. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Napoleon & Tina French, husband, Jesse O. Waddles, JR., daughter, Tina R. Nelson, and sister Patsy Parker. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kevin Waddles, Peachtree Corners, GA, Sheldon (Norma) Waddles of Jonesboro, GA and one daughter Keva (Ronald) Thomas of Memphis TN. Sandra Kay Waddles is survived by two sisters, Nancy Pounds and Cindy Fields, both of Albuquerque, NM, three aunts Nadine “Weesie” French, Teresa Gandy and Evelyn Tucker, one uncle Tommy French, father-in-law Jessie Waddles, Sr., thirteen Grandchildren, six Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, relatives and friends.
