With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Sheri Shideler, on June 18, 2025. She was 62.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany on a U.S. military base, Sheri was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she built a life full of laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Though she called Albuquerque home, she fondly called her years in Pittsburgh the best of her life.
Sheri was charismatic, quick-witted, and full of warmth. Her laugh was contagious, her spirit magnetic, and she had the rare gift of making everyone feel like family. She sang, danced, joked, and lit up every room, truly the life of the party.
Brilliant and driven, she worked in accounting and purchasing throughout her career, but her talents extended far beyond the office. She was a gifted baker, devoted gardener, and creative quilter who could make beauty from anything. And every Sunday, she proudly cheered on her beloved Steelers.
Sheri was a Christian who loved Jesus with her whole heart. Her faith was a guiding light, always steady, joyful, and strong.
She was our mother, our home, and our greatest supporter. She leaves behind three daughters: Myhisha Fourzan (Carlos), Jeanne Heninger (Mark Bachechi), and Samantha Rivera (Eric Valdez). Sheri cherished her sons-in-law as her own and loved them deeply.
She is also survived by her six treasured grandchildren: Monte, Bentley, Jordynn, Adalynn, Zachary, and Xavier; her siblings: Steve Langham, Suzanne Protzman (Mark), and Shannon Crown (John); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Her grandpups, Sophie, Sheldon, Jack, and Thanos, filled her home with joy and cuddles.
She now rests in peace with her parents, Jeanne and Vernon Langham, and her brother Michael Langham, whose memory she carried in her heart.
To know her was to love her. To be loved by her was a gift.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 1st, 6:00–8:00 PM, and her funeral will take place Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception, all at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM.
Please honor her by dancing a little more freely, laughing a little louder, and loving a little deeper, just as she did every day.
