Shirley Delores Kelsoe Woods left her earthly body and began her Celestial Journey on April 14, 2026. She was born on March 24, 1936 in Oakdale, Oklahoma to Glen M. Kelsoe and Hester V. Roper Kelsoe. She was the middle of five children Ronald Glen, Nevada Gay, Billie Sue and Henry Thomas. She left high school for marriage to Steve Ernest Woods Sr. Their union was blessed with three sons, Steve Ernest Jr (Cheryl), Johnny Glen (Colleen), and David Lee (Phyllis). She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronald and Henry, sister Nevada, her husband Steve and her second husband Sam Pina.

Her life’s avocation was wife, mother and homemaker. Sons. nieces, and nephews have never forgotten their birthday German Chocolate Cakes.

Grandchildren number 10 including Carol, Steve Arthur, James, Nancy, Terrie, Kristy, Jayson, Austin, David Wayne and Laura. Joining the Woods Clan were 22 great grandchildren Add then 1 great great grandchild and you have a five generation Matriarch.

Shirley was a lady of Faith and her convictions were evident after but a brief conversation with her. She has been characterized as Kind, Gentle, and Caring. Even after health issues and injuries she was a regular attendee and supporter of Her Church, Faith Tabernacle. After becoming a resident of an Assisted Living Facility, she made an effort to attend when able.

The Woods family wish to give special thanks to the Caregivers at the Bosque Farms Bee Hive Assisted Living facility, helpful neighbors, home health aides, and her pastor Cynthia Eggers.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Strong Thorne Mortuary/Daniels Family, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque on April 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Internment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
