Veda Marie Cowan

Veda Marie Randolph, born to Joe and Mary Payne, October 13, 1952, she departed this life on October 23, 2023, at the family home, with her husband Leonard by her side.

Veda was born in Emhouse Texas. She and her family moved to Albuquerque at a young age. She was affectionately known as “Veda Payne.”  She attended Albuquerque Public Schools. She graduated from Albuquerque High School.

Veda was married three times, her first two husbands passed away. She married Leonard Randolph, November 14, 2002, they remained happily married until her death. Leonard stayed by her side day and night, making sure that she received the best care that he could provide. They were a great couple. Wherever you saw Leonard, you would see Veda. They traveled up and down the road with her mother and others. Veda, Leonard, and her mother Mary attended church together and spend precious time taking care of each other.

She was a hard worker. There is no work that Veda would not do. She was a kind and compassionate person. She could get rough when she had to, but that was not that often. Veda was proceeded in death by her parents, three sisters, Ann Payne, Sherrie Dale Payne, and Judy Payne. Two brothers, Billy Payne, and James Payne, other relatives, and friends.   

She leaves to cherish her memories, Leonard Randolph, of the family home, her adopted grandchildren, Johnnay, and Johnny. She will truly be missed. All that knew her spoke well of her and will cherish the memories that have of “Ms. Veda Randolph (Payne).

Visitation will be held Wednesday November 1, 2023, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be Thursday November 2, 2023, 10:00 am, both services will be held at Strong Thorne Funeral Home, 1100 Coal Ave SE.
