Josephine Barth

Josephine S. Barth, 93, passed away Friday April 24,2020 in Albuquerque. She was born to Juan P. Gonzales and Adelaida Arguello on May 18, 1926, in Arroyo Seco, NM. In 1946, Josephine moved to Albuquerque where she met and married William E. Barth Jr. on October 20, 1953. They were happily married for 66 years. Josephine also lived in France, California, Illinois, and South Carolina being a military spouse before finally settling back in Albuquerque with her family in the early 1970s. Josephine started working as a housekeeper in hotels and eventually became a supervisor in a retirement home before retiring herself. She loved to travel with her family and friends and made many memories throughout those years. She always loved to tell stories about her and William’s trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV since they started going in 1984 and up until their last trip in 2007. Josephine was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ben and Efren Gonzales; sister Mary Martinez, and life long friend and sister-in-law Della Gonzales. She is survived by her husband; William; four children; Wendell Barth, John Barth, Dean and wife Laurie Barth, and Yvonne and husband Kenny Alire; four grandchildren, Kenneth, Valerie, and Jeremy Alire, and Adam Barth; two nephews; Jimmy & Wife Belinda, Son Angelo and Roy Gonzales and three nieces; Lorraine, Kathy, and Janice.
