Michael Arnot

July 21, 1954 — November 29, 2021

Arnot, Michael Allen

Michael Allen Arnot, 67, known to all those that knew and loved him as Mike, passed away peacefully at his home on November 29, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

Mike was born on July 21, 1954 to Mary Lou and George Arnot Jr. in Albuquerque, NM where he lived and enjoyed all his days. After graduating from Highland High School in 1972, Mike began his 34 year career as a Machinist at General Electric where he met many amazing people and friends, including his wife of 38 years, Denise. Denise had two young sons, Chris and Ryan, whom Mike loved and raised as his own.

Mike was an avid reader and could most often be found immersed in a nonfiction book. With a genuine desire to learn and an earnest interest in Military and American History, he sincerely believed that we could learn our most valuable lessons from studying and understanding the past. Therefore, it was no surprise that Mike also had a passion for genealogy and ardently tracked his family's lineage. Additionally, he kept the most detailed and entertaining scrapbooks memorializing his life that continue to be treasured. These photos and notes catalog the many great memories Mike made hunting and fishing with family and friends, taking his family to Las Vegas to watch Nascar races, going to shows and concerts, and spending time with his family and his pets whom he sincerely loved.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou and George as well as his brother, Mark.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; his sons, Chris and wife, Julie, Ryan and wife, Tanya; his grandson, Jacob; sister, Gail and husband, Martin; brothers, Marty, Marvin, Morgan, Matt and wife, Deena; nephews, Steven, David, Hunter, Mark, Ty, and Christopher; and many other family members.

Mike will be remembered for his vast knowledge, wit, sarcasm, unique sense of humor, and hearty laugh. He will be sincerely missed by his family and friends, who will always be able to reminisce about the many great times and funny memories that continue to make us laugh out loud.
As Mike requested, his immediate family will have a private celebration of life at a future date.

All those that knew Mike understand that flowers are unnecessary. He would rather you commemorate his life by telling the stories about him that make you laugh; read a good book, keep an open mind, and learn the lessons the past has to tell us; and just enjoy your life and your loved ones for all the days you are lucky enough to be alive.
