Ruth Overton

Overton, Ruth Naomi
Age 90, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021. She was born in Austin, TX on April 27, 1931. Ruth enjoyed sitting out on the porch and people watching as well as playing dominos and spades. She loved talking and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She talked with everyone and was a great storyteller.  She enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard James Overton Sr.; parents, Douglas and Maxie Reed; three brothers, James Reed, Mack Ernest Reed, Franklin Reed; two sisters, Marion Younger and Sophia Reed.
Ruth is survived by her children, Richard Overton Jr., Ricky Overton, Donna Haskins, Keefe Ricks, Mack Overton, Ermond Overton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1509 Edith Blvd SE. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 also at Macedonia Baptist church.
