William Eugene Meadows

Master Sergeant William Eugene Meadows 77, Veteran, passed away on Sunday February 14, 2021, at Raymond Murphy VA hospital in New Mexico, where he worked for 22yrs after retiring from the military.

Mr. Meadows was born September 25,1943 in Tyler, Texas to the parents of, Hosea W. Meadows and Helen M. Thomas Meadows who precedes him in death.

He attended Tyler ISD schools graduating from Emmett Scott High School in 1962, with an honors in Spanish.

William “Gene” enlisted in the United States Airforce and left for basic training the day after his high school graduation and served for 26 years. Retiring at Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

His brother, Sentroy (Bobby) Meadows precedes him in death leaving behind his loving widow Doris Meadows.

He is survived by his daughter Tanya Blaylock (Thomas, Rev.), of Tyler, William E. Meadows Jr, CA, Marcus Meadows (Pecolia mother), North Carolina and one stepson Kenneth Sharts of Albuquerque. Two grandsons Lenard B Richardson Jr. (Deanna) and Maurquice Richardson Sr. (Tenasha), both of Tyler, and two step grandchildren, Jada and Kendra Sharts.

 One brother, Joe Charles Meadows, Two Sisters, Helen E. Meadows, and Gloria D. Meadows all of Fort Worth. One nephew Michael E. Meadows, Atlanta GA, and nine Great grandkids, Maurquice Jr, Lyndell, Jordan, Sophia, Taliyah, Selena, Damien, Marcella and Londyn Richardson. Mr. Meadows has a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Strong Thorne Funeral Home Chapel, 1100 Coal AVE, Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday March 9, 2021 at 6:00pm. Officiating Minister, Rev, Thomas Blaylock, Grateful Worship Center, Tyler, Texas.

 A Memorial and Burial Services will be held at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas Texas, Friday March 12,2021 TBA.
